You Are Not Cool Enough To Shop Here
Upon a visit on Mother's Day 2006, I found the owner of Kulture Vulture to be quite rude. We received no "welcome" or even a mumbled "hi". We were followed around the store, as if we were going to steal something any minute. He wasn't even subtle about it, and made it a rather awkward shopping experience. I picked up a small item and put it in the cup holder of my baby's stroller (which was in plain sight), and when I began to walk away from the counter, the owner barked at me, "Small items must stay up front!". I don't have a problem with that, but have some tact. This isn't how you get potential customers to spend their money.
I don't expect flags to be waved when I enter a business, but at least be approachable. The "too cool for school" attitude doesn't sit well with me, and I certainly don't appreciate being treated like a tourist.
