Decent Coffee, poor management
Although the coffee and tiramisu are good, I have had several friend work here and have been treated very poorly. I prefer to shop only locally owned establishments, but it's important to make sure they aren't just as bad as the corporate assholes. This place is really low on overall atmosphere as well, more for trendy college types. I would suggest Zotz, which is only a few blocks away and MUCH better. - Melody , posted 03/13/07

I like
The big plus about Envie is, you can get an Irish coffee, with good coffee for once. And they have real food, if you're hungry for something more than a bagel. Not as cool as Zotz, but there isn't much wrong with this place. - ...Alex... , posted 02/03/07

Not envious....
I've tried going to Envie numerous times, and each time it was less appealing than the last. The pastries always look either stale or crumbled and mishandled. The barista keeps chatting on the phone, talking about her boyfriend, while I stand there wanting to place an order. I just get frustrated and leave, yelling a nice "Thanks for nothing" as I walk out. Since there is limited seating inside, sometimes you have to sit outside, which wouldn't be a bad thing, except for the fact that they don't do anything about the gutter punks and their pack of dogs sitting next to you.

So, unappetizing food, zero service, and dirty gutterpunks....yeah, I won't be going there again. - Leslie , posted 03/14/06

great coffee + atmosphere
I liked Envie a lot pre-K, but since we've been back in town, it seems like we're constantly there. They have really great coffee, I love their breakfast food (I had one of their breakfast burritos this morning, as a matter of fact), they have yummy sandwiches....and at night the lights get turned down low and the fabulous bartender Michelle will pour you something delicious. Such a great alternative to a crowded, smoky bar...you can actually carry on a conversation! And if you're socially challenged, or just not in the mood for talking, they have free wi-fi, so you can always just go with your laptop and drink your poison of choice. - Unsubscribed , posted 03/14/06
